Default shift interlock

Does anyone have a part number for the shift interlock solenoid for a 1995 auto? Thanks.

Isn't one available but through the years several methods of eliminating, creative fixes have surfaced. I've no 1st hand knowledge but but here's maybe some interesting reads. What situation do you have exactly? This will get you a bump to the top at least and maybe generate some interest.

Shifter with BTSI Solenoid is a GM# 12551499 (Hasn't been available for maybe 10+ years)

Are you talking about the brake safety solenoid that keeps you from shifting out of PARK? There isn't a replacement, just remove it.

This is what I did, and not surprisingly, everything has been fine since.

It's a common safety feature that I believe appears on all automatic C4s (as well as almost all other brands of autos). They are notorious for failing and making it difficult to shift out of PARK, especially when the car is cold.

There is a "must step on the brake to get it out of Park" by at least 1995, and that lock-out is the subject of this thread. I am curious to know which year this started. I judge Operations in NCRS, and would like to check this feature, if equipped.

The "must step on brake" feature is what I was referring to. I thought that my '85 had that feature, but a quick check of my old owners manual shows my memory was faulty. Thanks for the correction WVZR-1.
