Default 3D models

Hello from Finland

First time to write in here...

Doesn't know is this correct place for this my question...

So, my project is LS swap to -84 C4 (LQ9 with LS3 heads + 4L65E etc.)

My problem is that I work a lot with Autodesk Inventor and of course I would like to make nice plan, all needed parts (engine/transmission supports, accessory supports...) ready before I get new engine or take old away.
And for that I have tried to found 3D models for components.
Engine model I already have (LS3), but haven't found transmission or any other C5 Corvette.. Chevy parts what going to use.
(files should be .step, iges etc)

Does anybody knows, can those be found somewhere?

For engine room, transmission tunnel... I will make 3D scanning, so it would be nice to do everything ready on screen.. then doesn't have any big problems what you don't know or already clarified those problems...
And when it's done, I think, no problem to share models to other users here

Are you going to convert to C5 drive train or stay with C4 layout?

I think a FSM for your '84 C4 as well as one for a C5 might have the data you desire.

That's not what I'm looking, I try to found 3D models, so that I can install everything on screen, model all brackets etc, so can manufacture needed parts ready before even have new engine/transmission...
Engine I did found... nothing else

3D model from LS3

There would be no original 3D models that would work in your system from a C4. Even in 96, true 3D modeling was very rarely used. in 84, you would have had wire frame 3D designs. Unless someone is scanning and converting old parts, this is probably a unicorn hunt.

Yes, I know that no original models... But I'm quite sure that somebody has made those... As that engine. 'Original' models can be found too, but price is something like 200 for engine model etc. Too expensive
And now I'm asking models for LS3 + 4L65E + LS3 Corvette parts, those are not so old. And as did write, I'm going to make scanning for car

You're lucky you have the engine model. I've never seen a 3D model of a C4 engine bay yet and I have been looking for a long time. Turbosquid has C4 models but the engines are not detailed ... also you would have to do some sort of shape-capture from the 3D files to import into Inventor.

Have you looked through grabcad.com?

I know they have a 700R4.

Yes, from grabcad I did found that LS3 model, but no luck with transmissions
4L65E is coming, so should like to get model for that and for TH700r4.
And models should be quite accurate, to see how there is free space on tunnel and how support will fit...

Veeku -- It would be nice if you could post your models when you have them on GrabCad.

87 Bob has done this conversion. You might message him asking what parts you need.
