Poorvette
The setup made over 1000whp but took 40+ PSI to do it, feeding a blower with twins. Removed the blower, and it picked up a few horsepower on 20 less PSI with just the twins.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
1. I sold my heads for more than what I spent on that swap.
2. That motor has 50 more HP than my 383 TPI
3. 3800 weighs 100 lbs less than a 350.
4. 3800 (block) sits 2 inches lower than a 350
5. The 2 missing pistons mean the 3800 sits 6 inches further back in the chassis.
So, what you are missing is intelect, tact, and basic knowledge of physics.
Is there a part of cheaper, lighter, lower, more powerful and more centered that is dificult to understand?
In fact, is there even one actual negative besides predudice that you can come up with?
Be more careful in your judgements as they may say more about you than your target.
Sounds fun for a track rat, but if you think that hunk will fly on the street... I doubt it. You are further ahead to make a cart. That will draw some very unwanted attention looking like that.
With the "wanna race" attitude you'll find a match real quick.
One thing you are forgetting.... The car was never built for that. It will be fun until you realize what you have. My guess is a car in the ditch that has been dismantlement.
For your safety I'll spout my opinion.
1.You have way more power than the car was engineered for
2. It's a turd
3.It's an old C4
4. All of these combined might prove that lack of weight will make it fun, but only scary fun not in control fun.
Seriously though. You better redo the whole car. Dropping power in to an old c4 is a bad idea without a fully supporting build. A miata is more competent with the same hp.
Some of us here make more than 2x your power in a c4, even at your power level the car is needing some work even for a good driver, just plain dangerous with old or even stock suspension period at those weight levels.
if you are copying Cleetus and all the guys before him, consider their builds. Enjoy it and good luck should be a ripper.

The cage, harness and additiinal bracing are on the way.
Ive been building toward this since 2013 when my vette got wrecked. Prior plan was to do the same thing with a 383 to 421 smallblock, but finances kept pushing it back.
Coil overs are probably in my future. You are corect that I have more potential power on tap than I can use, and are the first person to come to that conclusion on their own. Usually its comentz about me ruining the car with a v6.
Plan is to lighten it as much as possible and then add weight near the "bumper brackets" to even it out.
I will be keeping more of the body than most vetteKart guys and will be heavier. Between 2200 and 2600 depending on "what it likes"
It is pretty much a track rat, but will be road legal and run on the 3.4 pulley with a street tune most of the time.
Safety is a key priority. But I need the engine in to do the mock up for the cage. Some guys could draw it on paper, but i need to put it together and take it apart a few times.

This set is almost brand new and the mustang they are on is too heavy. When he swaps them out they are mine... If they work for me or not is anouther question. There is also a dual shock per axle coil over set up on a jaguar that may fit. Just have not lucked into a good pair.
1. I have to move the tops of the rears forward a few inches so the reservoirs cleared the axles.
2. I had to bolt the lower of the fronts to the sway bar mounting hole on the front lower control arms and trim a couple of pieces of the frame, again all because of the reservoirs.
Get ones with parallel reservoirs, all issues solved.
Factory bumpers are still here. But they will be replaced with safer upgrades.
Have you ever looked at the actual bumper on a c4?
Cheap thin stamped steel. Frame is pretty beefy but the only crumple zone is the plastic bumper cover insert.

That forward offset is the only issue. The shocks come with an attachment on the top with an M16 stud on it. The top perch on the factory C4 rear shocks threads directly onto this, making the rear shocks 100% bolt-in.
The problem is that the foward offset causes the driver's side axle to hit the reservoir. Thats why I moved my upper mounting hole forward a few inches.
For the front, it hits the little hump on the lower control arm where the sway bar mounts.
I could have made a bracket to raise it up high enough to clear, but then the spring would hit the upper control arm just a touch, so I moved it forward and mounted the bottom of the coilover to the sway bar hole (they are the exact same size hole). This required me to trim some of the gussets on the frame with a cutoff wheel to clear the reservoirs. Just like the rear, the M16 stud on top of the coilovers bolted directly into the upper shock mounting hole using the factory rubber grommet and an M16 nut.
Parallel reservoir shocks would have been PERFECT.
I suppose many Americans view matters differently given the history of mass production in the country and the concept of liberty and private property. So many were produced that the incremental car modified does not really take from the whole and since it is your property, you can do with it as you please.
This dichotomy is always going to be present, but you will tend to see the former more at a site like this given the love for the vehicle essentially as it was produced. Good luck with your build.

Makes me want to cut up another crusher-bound C4.
