Hello,
I just raised windshield wiper arm too high in my 86 Corvette and small metal part which locks little spring in that arm just popped out. I found small piece of metal and it looks good. How do I fix it. Spring in arm is veeery strong... 🙁
Please help
Like I wrote earlier, I have all parts intact, I think I need to make this center spring a little wider just for a while to fix this. How I can do it at home?
Situation looks like this: originally spring is locked from 2 sides. From one side is locked by removable metal piece which I removed by opening arm too high. That pin looks good. I think a I can fix this but I need to stretch out spring just little a bit, but it's very hard... 🙁
Yes I managed to do it with help of my dear wife and about 20-30 thin but hard small metal parts (you need steel, alumininium is too flexible). We put them into spring "curves", some popped out obviously, so we were fighting about 3 hours. Then having spring enlarged, it was a lot easier to lock it from both sides in arm and put whole arm back to windshield. If you want more details I can give you more advices.
