I installed new Led headlights on my 1989 C4 and they're working just fine with the low beam & high beam being turned on and off.
The problem I'm having is when I turn on my fog lights, my headlight will turn on bright. What can this problem be & how am I able to resolve
this issue? This is very annoying!!
There are multiple threads on how to retire/modify fog light circuit to eliminate this problem but in a nutshell it works like this. The fog light relay is grounded through the high beam filament normally. If you switch to LEDs, When you turn on the fogs, it sends enough current to light the high beam on the LED headlights. If you change the fog light relay to ground through the chassis all works normally and you have the advantage of having the ability to turn on the fogs in both high and low beams. On my ‘96 the green wire off the fog light relay needed to be grounded, not sure which wire it is on the ‘89. Others will talk about using resistors and other fixes but grounding the relay is the easiest solution in my book. GLWR

I need to do this on my 93. Where exactly is the foglight relay?
