I have my first C4 and my digital dash goes blank from time to time, but comes back. it may be tied to the steering wheel wobble.
I also have the fat man steering wheel play, and I suspect it is part of the issue.
Do I just have a loose/shorted wire that I can troubleshoot when I repair the steering wobble? -OR- do I send my gauge off to be repaired/rebuilt while I pull the steering column?

Who do I send the gauge off to if needed?
Hi the dash going blank at times is usually due to the 12 pin connection between the two circuit boards in the dash cluster, Batee sells the repair kit $30 Is quite easy, did it on my old 85 worked great since. https://www.ebay.com/itm/11582911997...Bk9SR9Kbu9ScZQ
Holy carp, I messaged Batee on eBay and they responded within minutes.
I’ll let you know what we come up with.
it looks like the rebuild is about $200, I have spent more money on stupider stuff. So that’s the worst case scenario
I hadn’t planned to take it apart so soon but ill just have to speed up another project
Great to hear batee will give it a once over, that way you can rest assured an expert has looked at it and will be trouble free. The usual culprits are the board connector pins and some capacitors that can leak and fail, he will quickly asses and know what needs doing. A bargain really for only $200 🙂👍
Batee is the best ! Brian will work with you and make whatever is wrong, right ! My 88 dash was pretty much dead, and he brought it completely back to life. Sure hope he doesn’t retire soon….
Everything mentioned above + this somewhat generic for all Saginaw tilt columns should be useful for reassembly of some of the components, it's NOT a C4 SIR column but once you're into it it can certainly be useful. A correct FSM to reference from time to time should also help.
The above fellers were kind enough to add some pertinent information on the steering wheel removal in the What did you do to your c4 thread...so I moved it here for easy reference
