Default Heater

Hey up my friends,just bought a 1988 C4 getting use to all its quirks but why does the heater fan come on straight away,how can I stop it,is there a switch in the cabin somewhere,the heater sits in the engine compartment on passenger side if that’s it,any ideas,thanks

Hello,
I am assuming you have tried pushing the off button on the climate control and that is not working correct? Sometimes the rubber layer in between the buttons and the PCB board gets misaligned or the carbon pill which completes the circuit gets dirty preventing some of the buttons from working.
