I replaced my FX3 Bilsteins with Ridetech HQ adjustable shocks. This past weekend I tracked the car at Ozarks International Raceway where there is a hard dip in one straight and the car repeatedly bottomed out, with my 275/35 18s rubbing the inside fenderwells badly. See photos. I don't see bumpstops on the suspension anywhere. We're they built into the original shocks?
If so, any advice on adding stops to my new shocks? How big would they need to be? 2" maybe.
Thanks for the pic for comparison. No, I don't think so. That is rear suspension, correct? Haven't checked rears yet. I do think I found the issue.
The bump stops on a car with FX3 adjustable Bilsteins appears to be on the shock itself, inside the upper shock sleeve. See photo below of the old Bilstein front shock. Never occurred to me to add a stop to the new shocks.
I think I will compare old and new shock lengths and if they are similar I may just rob the stops from the old shocks and install them on the Ridetechs.
