Got a call today from speedy auto glass. They informed me that my insurance company will only cover the cost of the windshield and the weatherstipping and not the 3 piece moulding. The lady tells me i owe them $746.25 for the moulding. She explains to me that there book shows all three are required for the repair and the insurance companys book shows two. I told her that there is no way in hell that i am going to pay there ransom demands. I didn't glue the parts on!! I told her they can remove the the trim and re-install mine. She say's she will talk to the installer. If they attempt to cut my new weatherstripping off to remove that trim they better order a new weatherstripping!! Monday will shed new light on this episode of OUCH!!!!!!!!!! :mad  :mad
You know I never thought of that......you can bet I'm going to check my insurance coverage......at least what they do cover......Damn.....sorry to hear of your plight.....

It is not fair to screw the glass company. The insurance company sould pick up the tab. If the part was consumed in installation then the part must be replaced and paid for. This has nothing to do with you policy. If you have comp. coverage they have to pay.
Call your agent and get up his azz to get up claims azz. If you were dealing with my company, I would be on your side to get this problem handled. They are just as much to blame for sending you a bill.
Those parts are that expensive, because they are all dealer parts. That why the insurance does not want to pay. I've had this happen before where parts that you nornmally reuse are glued down, so when I go to remove it, they get destroyed. The installer should not have to take the blame for another installers F'up years ago.
