[B]Just scan and read the posts. Then you will find common problems
You'll also find the best-liked models and why they are liked.
Problems with convertibles? ...only that they cost more than an equivalent coupe and may not be as rigid.

Welcome to the forum..!..Im new here myself, but already have had excellent experiences here!....I'M on my tenth vette and three of them were C4's. An 84 coupe, 86 vert w/greenwood effects, and my current 90 vert. I would have to say the 84 gave me the most problems being the first year. I loved my 86..But so far my 90 is my favorate of the C4's and thats because of the interior change.....Good luck on your search...!!! :seeya

I love verts and 3 of the 4 vettes I've owned over the years has been topless. The downside is that they are very expensive to replace and you lose a lot of storage space wihen the top is down. Upside is that it is a beautiful ride out there in the open air. See if you can find one that has the optional hardtop. It shouldn't be that more expensive. By the way, I had a Marine Recruiter friend a few years ago who owned one of those Buicks. He and his father used to drag race it. It was very fast!

First off, welcome to the forum! I hope you decide to buy a vette. They are so much fun and you will fall in love with it. Just something special about a vette. I have an 86 myself and I must admit, I am partial to the look of the C4 vettes from 84-90. Of course, if cost is no concern, then I think most people would agree that you should look for the latest model C4 that you can afford. I have experienced some problems w/my vette. The digital dash, alternators, egr, etc. , but nothing you wouldn't expect from a 17 year old car. Oh ya, and sometimes the wipers go crazy and the windows leak. :)
