ugh... 84's are getting older, now... and that is a problem...

adding stuff to an already weakend electrical system is asking for trouble.

sorry about your problem...

I would also NEVER let the chimps at Circuit City work on my car... :smash: :smash:

the problem I ran into on the 85....the alarm guy said there was no way to effectively disable the stock system. that might be your problem

:iagree: Even on the 93, they couldn't really do it...I ended up getting a PKE fob and using the factory system instead of the Viper that is still installed on my Vette. I just yanked all the fuses for the Viper. Come to think of it...guess I should remove the Viper totally, I don't even have a transmitter for it anymore.

That does suck. Occationally, my "stock-horn alarm" goes off, but if you use your door key on the drivers side door, it will stop the horn from blaring. You have another problem, in that you took your car to Circuit City for an alarm system. Not good. Thus far, (I have owned my vette for 14 months). I have a complete understanding of any possible situation that can arise. I always set it to Valet mode b4 bringing to a shop & tell them to NEVER leave keys in the car. (just in case alarm kicks on & puts windows up & locks doors. Anyways, I am sure you will get it all worked out. Look at it as another wonderful VETTE experience!

Wanna know what your problem was? You took it to Circuit City. I had a $1500 stereo system put in by them in my last car. I had to take it back 7 times for them to fix it, and I kept blowing fuses without the volume turned up. They gave me a second alarm remote for my vette and at the same time they broke one of my horns (only one of the horns was working in the first place), and they wouldn't pay for it. They're just not good with electronics, I wouldn't go back there again to have things installed if I had my choice, but Best Buy is overpriced for most car products. Guess you have to pay for a better install. What ended up being wrong with it?

I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO ME.

I drop it off (THis was a Wiz store though, same deal). I come back 90 minuts later and the car hasn't moved. Some how the alarm got tripped and the car would not start. The strange thing was the alarm wasn't honking the horn. So i figure that the horns just happened to blow at this time and it was a strage coincidence. SO i got out used th key to shut off the alarm and the car started. I promptley return the speakers i bought and took it to my mechanic. But after reading that it makes me wonder. I will never take it back to one of those chains again (any car really, cause i sold the vette, but thats another story).
