Proud new owner of a 92 black 6 speed,(bone stock) at least for now.I put the cart before the horse when i posted a problem i had instead of introducing myself first.(sorry)
Your targa top, I bet can be fixed, unless it went into melt down.
I've never had to anything but wax mine, so I'm sure one of the guys here will come up with a product to buff that pup out. Good luck.

BTW, one of my best friends is a Policeman for the city of San Diego, he's OK, he's a Corvette guy. :yesnod: :D
As a fellow '92 owner, you'll never find a greater bunch of guys and gals than this group - I have contributed a little in my time here and have learned a helluva lot - maybe we can help you out of your dilemma!
What was the cleaner you used and can you find what the ingredients were? I'm asking because you may have messed up the clearcoat they put on the acrylic rather than damaged the acrylic itself. If the acrylic IS damaged, there are several threads you can search in the tech area that deal with either machine or hand sanding and polishing to get the gloss back.
I'm also asking because that cleaner of yours might actually help some of us trying to get that clearcoat off!! Mine has been checking and flaking like a bad case of dandruff for the last four years - just don't have the courage to take sandpaper to something that you can look through!!! I figure I could try your chemical and see if it will take the remainder of the clearcoat off of mine!
Good luck - hope to "hear" from you again on the Forum!
The cleaner i used was CASTROL SUPER CLEAN-cleaner & degreaser. It is in a 1 gallon blue container.I was just using it to strip all the wax build up i had.I took a look at the top again and it does look like it was only the clear coat that got damaged. It does look like dandruff flaking come to think of it.check the link above this post to see methods of reapairing it.

Typical Jarhead.
Never put a solvent on any plastic unless it specifically says that it's okay to .
You probably just damaged the anti-scratch coating and not the acrylic.
You could buff what's left of the coating off, or find someplace that could apply a fresh coating. (Call Ridout Plastic in Kearny Mesa, I'll bet they can advise you)
