Underhood Lights
I decided to change the mecury switch on one of the underhood lights because it needed to be tapped from time to time to make it work.
When I removed the lens I noticed it had been hot in the housing.
When I went to remove the bulb the plastic that hold the bulb clip
disintegrated.
I had some spare lights but 2 were already disintegrated one was on the way
out but the last one was like new.
I had already put a switch in to cut the lights out when ever I work under the hood. I didn't feel like unplugging them each time I worked under the hood.
I guess the fact that the lights don't go off and the thin plastic that the housing
is made of makes this a common problem.
Now I'm really glad I installed the light switch.
