Cure for tailgaters?
Who has one? A cure, I mean.
In my old van I used to just drop the outside wheels off onto the shoulder of the road and let the debris pepper the jerk.
I can't really do that in the Corvette.....
Any of you discovered a way that won't end you up in jail?
Just slow down and let them go on past. Half the time they are idiots the other half just want a better look at your car. Let them get a good look at America's true sports car.

No cures available. For every converted tailgater, there are three more waiting to take his/her place. I really believe that they dont tailgate. They just cant drive beyond their front bumper and have to depend on you to lead the way.
So I usually start to drift slooowly the right, and see if they follow. Then pull abruptly to left just clearing the old tire someone left laying on the side of the highway :D If they dont end up running over the obstacle  they jerk the car to left so hard you get to watch their headlights, :D then tailights  then headlights :D then taillights :lolg: :lolg: :lolg:
:reddevil Another simple ploy is to slowly drift left and the right just staying between the lines. They either think your drunk ;) or they get :U trying to follow you.
If im on an interstate or hwy I always get in the right lane and let them pass. If im already in the right lane or two laner i just set the cruise control and ignore them..( If Im on duty....well so far it has NEVER happened ;) ....) :flag

Daniel,
Off topic but one question? If you see a corvette speeding, (not profusely, just enjoying the day) do you cut them a little extra slack since you are an owner yourself and know how enjoyable it is to ride with the top down or the simple fact it's a corvette and fun to drive?
That's funny Siveck! When I was in high school, I was going to buy a washer tank and pump and mount some nozzles under the rear bumper of my car. Thank God I never did! :jester
Good Question Mark, I'd like to know too, so I'm bumpin' ttt.
Daniel, do you cut us any slack?

When I had someone on my Butt, I would speed up to see if they would still tailgate and if they were I would just turn on my lights and hit the go pedal, they will think you are hitting the brakes when you turn the lights on and then you can hear the screech as you het the go pedal, love the look on their faces.

That comedian Steven Wright had a joke about how he wired his gas pedal and brake lights together, he'd hit the gas, they'd lock 'em up and he'd be gone. Was really funny...guess ya had to be there...
