Re: A Z07 thread -- (Z-07 freak)
I'm just curious to know... It sounds like most Z-07 owners learned their Vette has the Z-07 after they bought it. Any of you actively search for yours?
It took me six years to find my '91 turquoise/saddle leather Z-07.
When I have more time to write it, I will post specs I have on the Z-07 springs and sway bars.
I looked for my 91 Z07 for about a year and a half. I wanted yellow, but decided the black looked good after not finding another Z for so long. I bought the car sight unseen and flew from Seattle to San Diego to drive it home w/ a friend.
There is a Hib Halverson suspension chart somewhere on the internet that decribes all the trick stuff our cars have.  :seeya
Hey I'm here too! Have a 95 white with red Z07! Every luxury option and all race option also! What a automobile to have while driving the coast or the city roads. Also, as someone said early, I found the code for the Z after I bought the VETTE! Great extra thrill! Ha! NOT FOR SALE! Later.........
I've had my 1993 Z07 for about two years. It is Polo green with black interior, and has every option except low tire pressure warning. I wasn't specifically looking for a Z07, I just wanted a 6-speed. I noticed the RPO code under the armrest when I was looking at the car. I don't think the seller realized what he had, and I didn't say anything.
Likewise, I did'nt realize what I had until I started decoding all the rpo's on the center console lid and then confirmed all of the bits when I got a build sheet. Harsh ride, but my wife assumed they are all like that. Mine is a 91 Auto red/red with a 3.07.
Looking at the specs on all of the C-4 suspensions, the 91 Z07's had the stiffest springs and roll bars of any C4. They backed off on the front spring rate in 92 to 90.1 from 115.5 which was adopted in 88 for the Z51 and the 92 rear roll bar went to 24 from 26mm on the 91's. Now that I know what I have, I'mm going to Autocross with it this spring and learn how to use it and have some fun. I've put the Camber brace and Cross Frame to stiffen the body and will be getting either the Cross Bar of S/T Frame next month. :auto:
You sure it's a Z07? I'm pretty sure Z07 was only available with the six speed in 1991, and '92 was the first year that Z07 was available with the automatic.
Yep it's a Z07. The literature refers to them building a few automatics and I stumbled across one of the few, so I have a rare one. Probable have one of the few Vettes with handicaped plates as well.
cheers, :seeya
I'm not form the computer generation, I haven't figured out how to put picutes of my car in here yet. Used a slide rule, T-Square, Triangles and French Curves to design aircraft when I went to college.
But, here's my best shot, I'll give you the stuff off of my window sticker and build sheet.

The 92 does not have a base suspension. I believe it is the front spring that is a little softer than the front spring on the 91, but still firmer than the spring on the base suspension, and the 91 has a 26mm solid bar on the rear versus the 24mm solid bar for the 92. The rear springs on both models are the same (as they were on the pre Z51 cars). The FX3 settings on the shocks are firmer on the 92 than they are on the 91. It says so in the Corvette Black Book if I recall.
Regardless, I have had my shocks revalved, as well as a new chip for the controller, and have been in few Corvettes that handle better than mine. There is no question it could pull 1g on the skidpad.
