TINTED WINDOWS
Your views and comments on having tinted windows on a C4 or other Corvette. Back hatch glass, passenger and drivers side windows. Do you like it, would you do it? Benefits and disadvantages.

I have them, night vision in the rear view is not spectacular however. Especially if someone comes up behind you.

Down here, I think the tint is more for keeping your butt from sticking to the seat, rather than making the car look good.
It seems to do a decent job of both, however.
Definitely on my "To Do" list this summer.

20% all the way around with a receipt showing 35% all the way around (35% is the max on side windows allowed by law in the State of Florida). I love it! If not, I would be fried from the sun (black interior). At night, you don't need to switch your rear view mirror, except when some idiot is driving behind you with their brights on. I have yet to own a car without tint!!!

Re: TINTED WINDOWS (_freakmonkeydogboy_)
It does seem to be practical, especially with the large hatch window. Looks like it would be much cooler during hot weather and also cut down on the deterioration of the interior components.
Plus the cops can't see ya passin the crack pipe back and forth. That in itself is worth the cash outlay

Well my tint in the back is peeling but it is OLD tint. I'm talking 12+ yrs.
I don't know if its just from age or what. It still looks pretty good though but it will be replaced soon :yesnod:

I have it. Looks great and keeps the car cooler in the summer. I agree that the vision out the back at night is a little worse.

I love my tint. It's limo all around. Night vision backing up is sometimes difficult, but something you'll get used to.
If legality is a concern, tint the car to the legal limit. It can still look good with legal tint on the doors and a darker shade on the back glass.

Gotta have it!!
I'm legal on my doors (ok, well ALMOST!), but the back window was my big thing. I found that almost EVERYTHING on the road had headlights higher then my back end, so I did it for the glare, if nothing else!!

I think it makes other peoples Vettes look cool. Not for me. I don't want any interference with my visability. I drive my Vette quick and fast, like the mighty squirrel. :D
