Has anybody out there ever tinted their own windows? Corvette Central offers a kit for the two side windows and back hatch for $66. Just wondering if anyone has done this themselves and if it's worth trying.
:nono: this was just gone over. Why settle for mediocre when you can pay a little more for a pro with a warranty?
Yeah it was me that opened that can of worms; now, it turns out that a quality tint shop will do it for around $200 CDN. After giving the job a little consideration......I changed my mind......they can do it for me.
Warning Will Robinson,Warning. There are a few things that are best left to a pro. Window tinting is one of them. There are many ways to do it wrong and only one way to do it right and wrong looks like crap.
:iagree: The $140 you save you will loose next weekend when you take it to the pro's to have it done and not to mention wasting this weekend cusing at that slippery sticky stuff
I agree, you don't want to bother tinting the windows yourself. Let the pro's take care of it, you will be much happier in the end. :iagree: :iagree: :iagree:
i got two quotes on mine here in gainesville fl and i think they were both in the neighborhood of between 180 and 220. i hardly ever drive the car so i htink im going to go with limo all the way around
I know I could do it if I can find the correct materials and tools. I've done interior upholstery, body and paint and assorted other things to a fair amount of vehicles I've had in the past. Heck I've built cars from the ground up I'm certain I can apply some film to glass. Thats why I would like to get the correct materials and tools. I'd also practice on something else first.
