Default Wheelskins

My 87 vert's steering wheel was quite rough on top and just did not look good. I looked at the options: (1) trade it in for a repop (expensive) (2) sand down the rough spots with progressively smoother sandpaper and re-dye (if I screwed it up it would look nastier than ever) (3) put on a Wheelskin from Corvette Central (WTH, under $30 and I could get a two-tone).
So I ordered one on-line from Corvette Central and put it on. I liked the colors as it goes with the tan interior and black dash. I screwed up a couple of the stitches and I did not like the big gap where the spokes are - there is no way to keep it from "pooching" out. :mad I then put some 3M trim glue where it goes over the spokes and taped it down for the evening. I still need to work on the left side but overall I am real happy with the product. I give it a 9 out of 10. It went on in about 20 minutes and with a little more glue I think I will be very happy with it. It feels great to drive but does make that thick steering wheel even a bit heftier. I would recommend it to anyone to try.

I've had mine on for about 3 yrs. now with no problems. I like it just fine, and the price was right too; like you said. Took me 2 attemps, and some sore fingers to get it just right though.

Hey mods. WTH happened to my picture? It was there for about 1/2 hour! :mad
You can see it by going to msnusers.com/corvettepics87 and scrolling through the pictures. The first pic was before I glued the spoke area, the 2nd after glue.

Try your web host site, its probably down.

I put wheelskins on a year ago. They fit perfect. The previous owner must have had a ring shaped like a razor. The wheel was all cut up.
A new wheel is too much money, not worth it.
