headlamp switch question

headlamp switch question
Before I force anything Or break it how does the round headlamp switch come off or out of the dash?? Does it pull out or screw out to the left??? The original is a little stained on my 87 and I'd like to change it out.

Most GM HL switch ***** are held into the switch body by a detent. There is usually a button on the switch body that will release the ****....the problem is accessing the switch body and finding that release!

If you rotate the **** you will see (using a small mirror) a spring clip that grips one edge of the triangular shaft.
Use a small flat blade screw driver to depress the clip (push it toward the black ****) and pull the **** off the shaft.
