Well, unfortunately, my 93 C4 has hit the mark where I had to say goodbye to it. With 167,000 miles on it, the resale value here in South Florida was very bad. I was also looking at $ 3,000 in repairs (maintenance stuff: all 4 wheel bearings, water pump, chassis computer module, etc.). So, instead of dropping more into such a high mileage C4, I went to the dark side...I found a 2001 Quicksilver Z06 with 13,900 miles on it for $26.5k. Mint condition car, with amazing power! I'll still stop by and say hello from time to time and if I see questions I can answer, I will. I also have a bunch of parts for my C4 that I never got a chance to put on or that I have taken off. Once I get pictures and prices, I'll be posting them on the For Sale section for all of you.
Hopefully, my screen name change (QuickZilver) will be go into affect soon. <-- A C5 Owner waving to all his C4 Buds!
Buying a Z06 to avoid having to help me install my camber brace and chase down a few rattles seems like an unnecessary extreme but it should work.
I'm sure after all the "help" I gave Neil one time on his 93, he had to be muttering to himself "There's got to be a better way". Picking up a low mileage Z06 ought to do it. My favorite from that time was his fiancee wondering how Neil got so dirty working on the car while I managed to stay so clean. It's that old expression, "Those who can, do. Those who can't, stand around holding the trouble light and ask inane questions".
At any rate, enjoy it bigtime and I'm not kidding about that ride I demanded. BTW, if you haven't begun already, time to start thinking about a vanity plate...

Seems like the right thing for me to do! You know I will help you out with installing your camber brace.

Hey, there are no inane questions. All of the questions you asked were very good. And, I will still help you out doing any work to your C4 (let's me still feel like I know something, now I have to learn about the C5 and LS6 motor, just as I got used to the LT1 and C4). And, you did a wonderful job holding the light for me.
As for the vanity plate...since I am into this Z06 for 5 years, yeah, I may need to figure one out. Maybe you can give me a hand with that.
And, you will be in for the ride of your life in this thing...

Re: Sorry to go :( (Whitvette)
My mom had a 95 Mustang... nothing but trouble, she traded up for a Grand Am and now my parents just bought an 80 L82 vette, 36,000 original miles, super clean, good deal, etc...
My sister had a Probe, automatic, that would die any time she took her foot off of the accelerator... trouble trouble and more trouble

Daaaaayum! You don't screw around when you make a change do you? That is a good deal and a heck of a ride. A lot of us are jealous! I'll be thinking of you as I sweat and bleed over my 87's maintenance this week (new valve guides, plugs, refinish valve covers, new plugs, wires and stuff). It would be nice to just get in and start it and not have to wrench on it and spend mod/maintenance money on it all the time. All that power?!!!!! Congratulations!
