Default It's almost here!!!

I just got off the phone with Brad at B&M and he has all the parts in that he was waiting for to put the engine back in the Vette. As long as everything works out, she should be ready to be picked up this Friday!

I can't freakin' wait! It's been so long since I've had the car running right that it almost seems like it's just a dream right now!

Thats great to hear, BJ Its always comforting to know that there's nothing that can't be solved with enough $$ when it comes to this hobby (as opposed to more serious life problems) Looking forward to hearing how it all turns out for you, and yes, its been a very long time since your baby has been out on the prowl

Had the engine torn apart since it was runny crappy. Ended up that the skirt of one of the pistons cracked off, I snapped a pushrod in half, and broke the stud that the roller rocker sits on. This is all due to that one cylinder being bored over just a smidgeon than what it should have been, thus, causing too much freeplay within the cylinder wall.

Since the engine was apart I decided to swap out the cam for an LPE 219 cam, got the headers re-Jet coated, repolished the intake to get all the scratches out, swapped out the "Vette Doctor" valve covers for some LPE covers, eliminate the air pump pulley and install the eliminator pulley, install a high flow fuel pump which should have been done from the beginning, then have it dyno tuned for maximum performance.

Ever since I got it back from the Vette Doctors it just never ran right. It ran too hot, it ate too much oil, etc., etc. I just kept getting blown off by Carmen after it was done. Ended up needing a high flow water pump to solve the heat issue (which was done by another mechanic in Atlanta), and the oil consumption was most likely due to the "overbored" cylinder as well as most of the piston ring gaps being aligned improperly.

Anyway, after all of these headaches, I am hopefully going to be finally happy with the way she runs. Sorry about the long post. One thing led to another and I got going with it!

Sounds like she's gonna fly. : ) Good luck! : )

LOVE your wheels, BTW. If I could afford them, I'd have a set on my car. : )
