It's almost here!!!
I can't freakin' wait! It's been so long since I've had the car running right that it almost seems like it's just a dream right now!
Looking forward to hearing how it all turns out for you, and yes, its been a very long time since your baby has been out on the prowl
Let me tell you - It will be worth the wait.
HP + Torque = fun to the n'th degree.
Let us know how your new beast runs!!!!!!!
BTW: what are you doing to it?
Since the engine was apart I decided to swap out the cam for an LPE 219 cam, got the headers re-Jet coated, repolished the intake to get all the scratches out, swapped out the "Vette Doctor" valve covers for some LPE covers, eliminate the air pump pulley and install the eliminator pulley, install a high flow fuel pump which should have been done from the beginning, then have it dyno tuned for maximum performance.
Ever since I got it back from the Vette Doctors it just never ran right. It ran too hot, it ate too much oil, etc., etc. I just kept getting blown off by Carmen after it was done. Ended up needing a high flow water pump to solve the heat issue (which was done by another mechanic in Atlanta), and the oil consumption was most likely due to the "overbored" cylinder as well as most of the piston ring gaps being aligned improperly.
Anyway, after all of these headaches, I am hopefully going to be finally happy with the way she runs. Sorry about the long post. One thing led to another and I got going with it!
