something to me doesn't quite add up. If you look at the 1/4 mile times and MPH - the car only hits 127MPH. In a stick car - that is not that great of a MPH and DEFINATELY not what a 800+ HP car would hit in the 1/4 through a manual box.
There could be other factors - but something doesn't sound right. And for 400K - you would go a WHOLE lot faster than that
It _WAS_ there the last time I visited. And I'm sure it will make quite a few other appearances. But hey, lets give the owner a break. If I owned it, I would let the NCM show it every now and then, but I would also want it for myself sometimes too.
I tell you what.. I'll sell my car to anyone who wants to buy it for $390,000. With my car you can totally destroy that sledge hammer and save $10,000 in the process.. what a deal... Oh, my car is a blown 532" (all under the stock hood) 1991 C4 M6.... do I have any takers? come on now... there's only one of them...... the line forms to the left. no pushing...

Since when is the 1/4 mile speed relevant to this car?
Where else would you buy a production car that has run a documented 254.6 mph, driven to and from the track?
Even the fools on Speedvision said "This is one of the Sledgehammers." Wrong! This is THE Sledgehammer.
As I recall it went for something in the low 200s, not 400K, at Barrett-Jackson. I thought the price was too low for the car. Maybe Chris will speak up here, after all he was on the stage then.
EDIT: I just looked it up on Barrett-Jackson's site. The car went for $221,400. One guy bought all 4 Callaways at the show. Callaway Sledgehammer
I agree - something doesn't add up. For 400K you could build a pro-stocker that runs in the 6.7 and 200+ range and still have some bucks left over for a six-pack.
