emissions help
my car has to do illinois emissions by may 1st and i need a new exhaust system (cat & cat back)...i had elims on it and my Y pipe rusted thru, it also has that 60's muscle car smell so i just want to go and get a new system...with that said, i have a bit of a budget to deal with. i don't want to spend more than $600 and don't want the OEM mufflers.
Thanks for all your suggestions

don't get too cheap, Walker will rust out in a week... and their warrantee sucks.
you have until May? Gee, you have time to piece this together.
Exotic Muscle lists a highflow cat for your car at 149.00.
The cat back from Magnaflow is pricy, at $737, but that is MSRP, do some research, and you might get it cheaper.
Just stay away from aluminized mild steel. It will rust in an instant.
Check flowmaster, too.

I would get high flow cats for the time and with the budget and worry about the rest later. or have straight pipes put on the same time they do your cats.

Cruise-In II Veteran
The FlowMaster Force II cat-back for '86-'96 Vettes is $380 from Summit, free shipping.
Combine that with the EM cat for $150 and you have $70 for hangers, clamps and such.
