Depends on what you want.....if you want the shortest possible shifter that takes a lot more effort. Then go with the B&M. If you want a great shifter thats about 35% shorter and has a great feel with minimal extra shift effort get the Hurst. Also the B&M has more than double the number of parts vs the Hurst and is a little tougher to install. Both are good shifters, I have the Hurst in mine and love it. Others prefer the shorter B&M which takes a considerable amount more effort to shift namely because its shorter therefore having less leverage.

Hurst C4 billet shifter guy here as well......will never go back to the stock one. This is the version that should have come standard from the factory. Also love the Hurst black ball **** on top.

I got mine there too, for a "buy-it-now" price of $109. Very nice solid feel. The install was......welll, let's just say interesting. If I had to do the install again, it would be a breeze... experience helps.

I gotz the B&M. It feels more race car-ish. The Hurst was a smoother short throw. I'm trying to find a way to incorporate a rat fink handle into mine

before buying a B&M make sure you actually shift a vette with one installed. They are super short, barely any travel between gears and the shift effort is harder. Not saying they are bad shifters but it may be to your liking. I'm sure you will not have any problems finding some one on here to meet up with you that has one so you can test it.

See my thread on the same subject. Good install tips and a good place at a super price.

B&M hands down. I originally had a Hurst and it was OK, but I think I shifted faster with the stock assembly. Went to the B&M and would NEVER go back to stock or the Hurst.

Try and find someone in your area with one and you be the judge.

Very true . There is roughly 3 inches of total throw between gears and it does take an 'effort' as compared to stock... it feels like a race car.

I tried "ripper shifter" in a GS a few years back & thought it was great.....just might be doing a shifter soon....but there must be some reason everyone is going with the Hurst???????

What about "missing" gears with the shorter gates....

I have been dreaming of the B&M for couple years, is it still the one?????

Anybody WITH the ripper actually regret getting it?????
Anybody WITH the ripper actually like it.....short/long term????

I don't know if it helps but I've got the Ripper on my T5 and it feels 10x better than the stock unit.
I don't miss gears - the throw is so short you have to want to miss a gear.
One of the best "driving experience" mods I have done.

I had trouble with 2-3 when I used the Hurst shifter. May have been my driving style or something like that. I rarely miss gears with the B&M.

First thing I did was put B&M ripper in mine. I love it. Its notchy and prbly doubles the effort.....but the throws are soooo short.

I remember punching the radio on a 2-3 with the stock shifter....It was like rowing a boat
