custom intake

like ive mentioned in other posts i am in the middle of planning my engine rebuild i will be doing next year. i am not sure what to do about the air intake. from what ive heard most of thes high dollar aftermarket air intakes just look pretty and really dont do much for performance. i have already cut out my stock lid but not all the way. i think i may grind it out a little more to its skinnier around the edges just like the one that K&N sells. then just buy me a brand new OEM paper filter and put in there. and thoughts? i think this will gain me just as much as almost anything on the market. i really dont care much for looking fancy when it comes to air intakes. i will go witht he A/O forced air intake down the road but dont want to cut up the vett right now

Not much sense tossing $$ at a modified stocker now when you are planning on a forced air later.

i think i may do this even sooner than my cam swap now that i really think about it!
