Default compression bump

when i have my heads off to replace the gaskets and do a couple other things i am going to put the Impala head gaskets on whhich claim a 0.3:1 compression raise. i am also thinking about having my heads shaved as well and my mechanic says that wwith both that and th head gaskets i should be up to 11.5:1 compression. ( i have 10.8:1 now stock) how noticeable is this going to be in power increase? i know every little bit helps and i will be doing quite a few other power bolt ons and such at the same time but just curious on opinions how much power that kind of a bump will give me

The rule of thumb is that a point (1.00) of compression is worth approx a 4% increase in power.

RACE ON!!!

The law of diminishing returns applys here the biggest increase in thermal effiecincy is between 8:1 and 9:1 after that it starts to taper off pretty well. You might be able to squeeze 4%, it would be interesting to see how much power you would make. Dyno it before and after and let us know. Also will you be able to run pump gas with that much compression?

the reverse flow sooling systems of the late model C4s lets you run pretty high compression on 93 octane. i probably wont spend to much time in the upper RPMs without race gas but should be a nice improvment

What's the compressed thickness of the head gaskets you're thinking of running? Know the cc number?

I asked because I saw a FelPro .015 gasket in one of my catalogs.
