Hey guys, has anyone tried out the new engine management system from Painless Performance? It's supposedly supposed to be a plug -and-play application for someone wanting to change over to Fuel injection. They also claim it will raise HP and TQ in a stock fuel injection engine. It also converts from Mass Air to Speed Density. Is that a good thing? I have an 85 Coupe with the L98. It's modified and has tremendous low end torque. But....it has the stock computer with a chip. I know I could do much better with a faster computer. I was wondering if this Painless system would fix that. Anyone?

It is based on the Delphi MEFI4 EFI system which is the same systems that is used on the GM Ramjet 350 and 502 engines. Many marine engine OEMs uses this same controller for marine EFI applications. As long as the Painless guys does their home work on tuning the controllers it should be a easy install. My feeling is that these are for stock engines without any mods or they are for base crate engines with known calibrations. Any deviation from that and you are going to have problems as these are not user programmable.
