Default Brake Pad Recommendations

I'm about ready to do my '92, and I want some hot pads. I spend most of my time in the city, but I really push them since hard braking isn't illegal, unlike accelerating. Like any road freak, I like sensory input, and braking is one of my main ways of getting the fix. Rotors are stock.

Any suggestions?

Cheers!

Carbotech Panther Plus if you like hard braking, geared towards auto-x and street use, not high speed track use. They dust a but.

Carbotech Bobcats for just street performance, dust much less...

I have also had success with Porterfield R4S as a good street/auto-x pad too.

Remember if you change pads you need to turn your rotors, not just to get a smooth surface, but to remove the old pads film so the new pad can properly bed in. Or you can always buy new rotors...

Carbotech currently has a pad/rotor combo sale on that is rather a good deal and I used myself not too long ago.

I use Carbo Tech Panter Plus - dirty & wear your rotors, but stop like you threw the anchor out. Watch you don't get rear ended.

My current set is SBS ProTouring Ceramics.
I'm happy with them.

Another option might be the Performance Friction Z-rated pad. I've used them auto-Xing and on the street. Not much dust and they are lifetime replacements from AutoZone.

I have Porterfield R4S pads on my '94. Porterfield advertises the R4S as high performance street/autocross pad. They give nice feedback/pedal modulation and grab very well - even when cold. In my experience they're a great pad, but they dust a lot.

I have the Porterfield R4-S pads on my 85. Mostly hard street driving with a few autocross events. Was the only non-metalic pad I could find. Doesn't dust very much as I have polished American Racing wheels. They are easy on the stock rotors too.
