I would hold out for an aluminum performance head. While Iron heads have some benefits ie durablity and the same thermal expansion as your block, aluminum heads usually can run a little higher compression, and are lighter. There are other benefits however, removing weight from the front end of your car is a good thing. Chevrolet would not spend the extra money to install aluminum heads on your car if less expensive iron heads were superior.
