This post probably could have gone in the Scan and Tune section, but since I'm thinking of using the Hypertech to adjust for a rear diff gear change and speedometer calibration...I thought I'd post it here. How easy to use are these programmers? How long does it take to go through the "tune" from start to finish?

Never used one myself, but from what I understand super easy. But of course don't have a lot of options in them. Programming will take as long as if you had a data cable and laptop, so about 2-3 minutes.
Honestly its cheaper to just buy a copy of TunerCat & a data cable (or make one yourself), plus you can change ANYTHING on the car. Of course this requires a laptop
yeah, they are very easy. Once you connect, the programmer will ask you what you want to do. If you are using it for a diff change, beware! Hypertech will only go up to 3.73 and no higher. I have 4.10s and the Hypertech did nothing for me.

Extremely. It only takes a few minutes and is pretty self-explanatory.
Did the Hypertech ask specifically for the rear gear ratio, or did you just modify the tire size to re-calibrate the speedo ?
If you are looking at purchasing a HPP3 for just recalibrating your speedo, I can save you some cash by reprogramming your PCM for whatever you need. It is basically just handy for doing speedo recals but as far as performance tunes, its not much for that. And as the other forum member mentioned, it won't do much if you have 4.10 gears.
To answer your Question.
The programmer will ask for a y (yes) or N(no). You make the choice.
For the rear a G44 is a 307 rear and that is the info already in the programmer that info is inside your center lid in the car.
Takes 20 minutes to program the car.
I use the unit for trans programming to increase and decrease rpm shift changes.
I realy use TTS(datermaster) and Tunercats or LT1 edit to set up and moniter the engine.
