Default LT1 resonator question

I have a 94, when I got it the cats were high flow, the resonator was removed, and it had stock mufflers. It was way too quiet for my taste so I put on some eliminators and now it's too loud. Would putting on a stock resonator do very much to give me some more back pressure and reduce the volume a little.

Thanks

back pressure and sound are not mutually inclusive.

I would suggest getting some magnaflow mufflers.

The resonator should tone things down a bit... if you're having resonance issues in the car as well, it should also resolve that for you, if you have one it can't hurt to try, otherwise, as Bogus said, consider a different exhaust setup, I have a simular siuation with my corsa's I love the sound but they are very quiet at idle...

I don't have resonance problems, it is just a little loud. I seriously considered Magnaflows but thought I could save myself at least $100. Now I may have some eliminators to put the for sale section. I don't have a resonator to put in, I just thought it might be easier and more cost effective to help my problem with volume. Is the resonator pretty much straight through flow? I've never seen one off of the car before.

Exactly! I have stock system, but with the elims, I dont like it, so I'm getting Random Tech hi-flow cats, losing the resonator, putting an x pipe in its place, and running Magnaflow mufflers, and stock LT1 tips. Should sound good without too much resonance.

I use stock exaust .When I want the car loud I just open up the cut outs. Resonator is in tact along with the stock exaust.
With the resonator both cats being the only thing between the engine and cut outs the resonates will drive you out of the car.
