Update!!!! I check out all the suggestions that I got from you all. Everything checked out to be OK. Therefore, I ordered a new servo from AutoZone ($59.99). I installed it and the d___ thing still does not work. I am at a loss. I have no idea with could be wrong with this thing. Any more suggestions? I have power to the servo and I hjave vacuum. The vacuum release switch at the break pedal is also OK. What now?

When you say that everything checked out ok, what do you mean? Did you check just the suggestions we offered? If you followed all the trouleshooting steps with a volt/ohmeter on all the voltage points you should have found the problem. Additionally, checking the continuity of the cruise switch when in the on, set, and coast positions needs to be checked out too. All the info is on Agent86's link. It's really hard for anyone on this forum to troubleshoot remotely from a PC without you performing some diagnostics as outlined in the link.
When I get a few free hours, I am going to do more checking. So far, it seems as though I have voltage and vacuum at the servo. However, I'll obviously have to do more thorough checking when time permits. Thanks again for all your replies. I'll keep the forum posted on the progress of this project.
I have checked out that switch and it seems to be OK. It is holding vacuum. I am truly at a loss with this problem. I guess if the only thing not working on the car is the cruise control, it is still a car in good shape. I only drive it on extended trips once a year. So, maybe I'll just have to live with the condition as it is and be thankfull that I don't have an unsolveable engine or transmission related problem.
Thanks Jake. If this is the guide that is found in the Helms manual, I have it. I have run those diagnostics and all checks out OK! This is truly a problem to write about. When I get a bit more time, I will address this problem further, but for right now, I am just going to drive and not worry about this problem. Thanks for all the replies. Your ideas and suggestions have been much appreciated.

The one I have is from the GM 1986 Corvette Shop Manual. I don't know if it differs from what you already have, but you're welcome to it if you think it might help.
UPDATE!!!! Good news for me. I just talked to a person from a company called Quality Auto Trim in the Raleigh/Durham area. This company installs remote starts, keyless entries, cruise controls, etc. for dealers and private persons. The owner quoted me a price of $325.00 to install a completely new cruise system. I am going this route. This way I don't have to spend more time and money on an endless street. Fixing the existing unit seems like an impossibility, therefore replacing the unit is my best bet. Thanks again for the replies and suggestions.
