Default cam chose II

I recently posted a question about a Crane Cam (HR-296-2S-12-IG) and found out it was a bad chose, but I have another cam and I'm wondering if this cam is too big,its a comp cam http://www.compcams.com/information/...2HR-10_001.asp

Randy,
Hard to say without knowing the engine specs and its intended use.

If you're still TPI the LSA is too tight. Should be at least 112, not the 110.

230/236 is a healthy cam; it'll need an engine that calls for it.

You'd need more compression, at least 10:1, a good stall converter, good flowing heads, headers with low restirction mufflers, and a good flowing intake setup, etc. to get the most out of it.

Because it'll push the power peak higher in the RPM band, you'll need the other components to be able to breathe well up there. The add'l CR will help with the loss of low end torque that the longer duration cam causes.

Idle will have a noticable lope and vacuum for the power brakes will be right on the edge. I'm guessing 12" in gear at idle.

You'll need a PROM re-burn, too.

Just my thoughts.

Jake

I've got the same cam(230/236) with a 113LSA. I used it in my 393ci and it worked great. I used it in my 350 after I spun my main bearings in my 393 and it worked pretty good in that as well.

Acutally I've got the cam for sale if anybody wants it. I'm going to a forced induction cam for this comming summer.
