I spoke with them earlier today. And they seem to know what they are doing. I got a bunch of dealer information from them as well. From what I can tell their C5 kits look pretty good. Also they are going to build other GM kits as well as a C4 kit as well. Sounds pretty interesting to me. Seeing how I got a nearly complete blower engine ready for my car thats blower or turbo ready Maybe one of these days I will step up to one of them exhaust driven blow dryers They guy I spoke with said that the engine I have would be capable of well over 800Hp as designed Of course with their TT setup....I was planning on high 600's or perhaps 700 at peak......but 800+
with themotor you built Tj, with the proper turbo setup, your could make 1000rwhp piece of cake man... all about turning the boost up and remembering ya have no parasitic loss from the cursed belt..lol
yeah I have been to there site several times.. seems like they keep pushing the date back on the C4.. think they were gonna have something last january ready and then that gopt moved, and now its this year.. not so different then myself..lol but the rest of there stuff looks very nice! let us know if ya get the prototype!
I spoke with these people about a 1-1.5 years ago. They are knowledgeable in turbos, but mainly mustang people that are looking to expand their business. They had adds out on ebay thats how I found out about them. They are basically looking for a donor car to do the first one on. But they are still going to charge you something over $6k for the setup. Its cheaper to do it yourself, but if you don't want to do the work, and don't mind leaving your car there for months on end, go for it.
personally I wouldnt hold my breath....there are some C5 guys who ordered and PAID over a year ago, still waiting....
That sux! I told him I had a customer that is interested. A doctor here that has more money than Uncle Sam. He has a ZO6 C5 and wants to do a TT job on it. He also has a couple fancy MBZ cars and has a new ZO6 coming as well. This guy is a car nut and loves American Muscle and apparently some German muscle as well. Anyway the guy there tells me to tell my customer 8 weeks but says he would have it to me in less time......
TJ, being that it is the first car that you would be sending to them, I would have them sign a contract with a deadline and if the project did not meet the deadline.. they would shave X dollars off the purchase price.. that would be a key motivator to finish the project, and it would be in writing.. hold up much better.. that would be simply to keep your customer happy if the company your having do the work could not deliver in the proposed time.. if they met that one.. you could lighten the contract terms until you were sure they can deliver.. there is nothing like losing a local customer to some one elses lack of ethics.. and I am in no way saying they don't have ethics.. this is purely from a CYA (Cover Your ***) perspective dealing with an unfamiliar company.. never hurts to contract into jobs.. thats how mostof the rest of the world works.. no work done without work orders and signed at that! just my 2 cents!
The market has alot to do with it. Who is honestly prepared to drop 6-8000 on a c4 turbo kit right now? I suspect not very many people. That's why it's a low priority. lets face it. most of us have C4's becasue it's what we could afford. C5 owners tend to have more money to play with and thats why there's so many kits availble. there's money to be made.Simple econmics.
Get 20 people lined up who are so hot for turbo's that they would put a deposit on it and watch how fast a kit gets jigged up.
Id offer one if that were the case.

For TT you might check out Breathless Performance Products, I think they sell & install = Nitrous, Superchargers and Turbochargers. They are C5 & C6 specialists.
They are also a supporting forum member ( I think) so find their link and check them out...
I talked to these turbocharged power guys last week, the C4 kit is nearing completion. It's a single kit though. Someone on the board is the donor car. Should be dynoed pretty quick. If they can keep their prices around what they do for their mustang kits I think it would be worth it, Especially for those non welding people.
I'm the same way... If someone would bring me a damn car with a properly set up motor and pay for the hard parts I would donate the labor just to be able to jig one up... I just honestly don't have the time or money to do it all myself on one of my own C4's... One of which wouldn't be practical anyway because there's nothing factory about it anymore; and the wife's motor is just shy of 11.00:1 and while I could use it for mock up it couldn't be run.

Where are you located? If I remember correctly, it's North Carolina. I'm getting my L98 rebuilt in the next 60 days and I am probably (I still have time to change my mind 1200 times) going to go with a low-comp setup and F/I cam.
Depending on how close you are to me, maybe we could work something out. How much to you expect the parts would cost?
So this might be a stupid question...BUT, what is a good price for a TT setup on a C4 if you wanted only lets say 6-8psi of boost?
Reason i am asking is i was at Jay's Shop( www.automotionperformance.com ) and he was doing a Turbo kit on a C4 w/an LT-1 and i was very impressed with his work? Also it seems these kits are so cha ching$$$ because they are one of a kind per car and so would it be about the same cost as a procharger or vortech i wonder if more people would buy?
i am sure jay will chime in he might already have a fabrication for turbos and he is holding out on us! lol
But what is a reasonable price? for a kit that makes 6-8psi TT or single Turbo?
Nope, Little Rock, Arkansas...Right in the middle of the U.S.! I have no idea what a low boost kit should sell for; once all of the R&D is done and jigs are made the labor goes down considerably. Incon made a TT kit for SN95 Mustangs and it sold for about $6.5k; I installed a couple of those and there's A LOT I would've done differently. It was pretty labor intensive for a kit... I actually prefer one-off stuff; build it specifically for a customer car on an individual basis. That's why I do what I do. One of the Mustangs I installed the Incon kit on is back in my shop now getting a big single 88; all custom fabbed. I would probably do a C4 the same way but jig the manifolds up and a lot of the other piping so I could offer it to others; but Rick hit the nail on the head, market's gotta at least semi-warrant it. If not, one-off's will be what I'll continue to do.

Jeb,
I am in Central Missouri, pm me and lets talk about this. I have a <5k miles ZZ4 crate motor with 113 heads, basically the same as the L98 from what I understand. I am running a Hotcam and 10.1 CR. My biggest factor is going to be what kinda $$$ outlay we are looking at. I may need a month or so to scrape up the cashola.
The C4 is my car. The kit is done and it is on the dyno today. The cost is closer to 5k. I have been disappointed in the time, but I can't do it myself, so.... I am leaving town later today but I will let you know.

Sweet, its about time we heard somthing about that kit.
They were tuning over the weekend. A few problems came up. Right now the fuel ratio is too lean above 4000 rpms. They are learning new software. They have dynoed in first gear only. Prior to the turbo I had it dynoed at 231 rear wheel horsepower. The first gear run did 280 rwhp. They are working on figuring out the fuel ratio problem and expect about 400 rwhp. He mentioned sending a video. If somebody wants I can forward it to you for posting.
I posted the numbers in another thread, but just in case... Hp is dyno testing my car today. The first run with no tuning was 340 hp and 483 torque. After some tuning it was 351hp and 445 torque. Max boost was 9.2 with an average of 7.9. I expect them to deliver my car this weekend.
