I recently went through this too. There does not appear to be a correct size gear available, certainly not in the aftermarket. The only soulution that I found was to replace the entire assembly. The best price I found was around $41 from Dal Chevrolet in FL. BTW, the part # is: 1103868.

There are no aftermarket replacements for the LT1 gears. Mainly because it is some bastard size that GM decided to use. I wonder what goes through their so called engineers at GM. While they had probably millions of standard distributor gears for the standard HEI shaft size, why couldn't they have just made that drive with a standard size shaft?? Then we could go to Comp Cams, Crane or many other vendors for a replacement gear. Comp is tooling up to give is an Polymer alternative as is Crane.
