It depends on what you want to do. Most kits you will see offered for sale are designed to be installed on stock engines with 10:1 compression and up. Pro-Charger is offering kits for the LS6 engines with compression rations at nearly 11:1.
You should contact Greg at Blower Works. He has the best kits around for a stock L98 or LT1 or even the new ZO6 that is coming. Ideally if you are having an engine built, have it built for a blower application. For a street engine 8.5 to 9:1 is ideal, at that compression you can boost it up to 14 PSI for the street with the proper intercooling. 8 PSI would be a good average, 14 is in my opinion the max for the street using a supercharger. With boost past 8 psi you will need a minimum of a 8 rib drive or a cogged belt setup. Both of which is not a normal setup from a blower vendor. Most stock kits come with a 6 rib drive.
