If it's the post I think you guys are referring to, I came on just as they were being removed by the Admins. That guy posting was real good at sneaking them in.
Brand new. I monitored him from 8 through to 19 posts. He signed up Saturday and made all of his posts within about a 1/2 hour Sunday. None of his posts were Corvette related. They all had links to "Hate" sites. I know that not all the moderators can be everywhere at once, and I believe that only a few mods monitor several topics. I followed him around and reported each of his posts, in hopes of it coming to the attention of a mod, as quickly as possible. I don't know if that helped and I hope I didn't make any mods or admins angry with me, but I thought it was important to quash it A.S.A.P. They were "Johnny on the spot". They killed it very quickly. My hands haven't been slapped, yet.
Good job, Corvette Forum moderators and administrators. Thanks.
I honestly don't think you can get busted for reporting someone who's behaviour is so out there.
it's encouraged. Rather than answer the post, simply report it, that keeps the good guys out of trouble.
Too many times I've seen people respond which is exactly what spammers and trolls want, they are looking for attention. If they don't get it, they go away(and we don't have to bust the good people).
You may ask why would a good person get busted, well even though their intentions are good, calling a troll or spammer names is considered a personal attack. It sounds backwards, but al it takes is one other person to see that and they think it is OK and it snowballs from there.
