Anyone check out the new Corvette Fever with the 1991 C4 with a 427 (bored to 440)? Nice car, and looks very streetable making 575 CHP. To bad someone doesn't make one of these blocks for an LTx car. What is the main obsticle with putting a regular SBC in an LTx car and having the heads converted: the computer or mounting and accessories?
That car ia Very cool. I was actually impressed by the power the car made before swapping heads.. in the current set-up it had TPiS ported AFR220 heads and made 575HP, with the GM Fast Burn Heads it made 525hp..
From what I remember the article said it had:
427 Motown block bored to a 440
4" stroke
11.5:1 compression
AFR220 heads
ZZ-X Cam
1.6 Rockers
Headers (forget the brand)
TPiS Exhaust ( I am guessing the 3" flowmaster set-up)

Main obstacles so everything works?
Swap BCM with one from a 1991
Swap ECM and engine harness with one from a 1991
Swap LCD on cluster for the LCD from a 90-91 cluster
there may be a couple wire splices between the IP harness and ECM harness but it would not be too bad.
OR..
get DFI, F.A.S.T, or BIgstuff to control the motor and keep the rest OEM
It'sa Minnesota car, he had TPIS build the engine and Doug Rippie put suspension bits on it before it was painted. The article is in the CF that was delivered yesterday...

I cant remember the company that do it, but at least 1 of you will have seen the article in VETTE, called Retched Excess, the 1000 BHP daily driver. Its a red C4 coupe, and its bored to 421 cubic inch with the LT1 block, they cut open the plenum and open the internals up on that, and do a few other things... Anyone remember that one?? Looked quite stock on the outside except the 11 inch rear wheels and roll bars.

If I were to do this I would go with an aftermarket EFI system. That would be the easiest solution. Especially on a 90 and up car where the ECM is located under the hood. It would be an easy piggy back setup with any aftermarket ECU.
Diabolical Dave has a 427 in his C4. Custom stealthram intake as i recall. You may be able to find it in a search. He has a full website on the buildup.
