I'm in the midst of building up my -10AN Aeroquip ss braided lines for my oil cooler install.
Anyone have suggestions regarding how to flush them prior to installation? Compressed air doesn't get all the debris off the interior walls, nor does water.
8388, I appreciate the feedback. After thinking about it a bit more, I decided on an alternate approach, similar to cleaning a rifle barrel...
I cut a piece of cloth and then looped some stainless steel safety wire thru it. I cut the wire about 6" longer than my lines. I looped the "non-cloth" end of the wire so that as I pushed it thru the line it didn't puncture the inner rubber hose. Once the end was all the way thru, I could pull it and the piece of cloth thru the hose. I did that several times and then rinsed with water.
I recall reading how the NASCAR boys do it...they use a 'pig'. Very similar to what you did...pull a plug type deal thru it...don't recall what it was made of though...
You can also use a cloth swab used for cleaning gun barrels. Not sure if it would leave anything behind or not. The have a threaded end on them that can be drilled for saftey wire and be pulled back through a hose.
