It's either pep boys for the adapter, or $50 at Harbor freight for the whole thing.

I think I'll stop by tomorrow and get one, then I can crack open the tranny this weekend.

I hope that it's not toast... but if it is... I will deal with that when the time comes.

thanks for the advise!!
expect to pay $300-$400 in tranny tools for the 700r4

the biggest bang for buck is to R&R the tranny yourself (hand tools plus jacks/tranny jack) for a saving of 400-600 bucks and have a race shop do the work. Go to the local drag strip find someone who is running good in a chevy trans *T350/T400/PG* and ask them who re-builds it for them. Take your tranny there.

read up at transmissioncenter for knowledge and DIY tools. Also consider buying a racing $2200 tranny and just installing it and MOVE ON WITH YOUR life.

don't be like me...my 700r4 is great...when it wants to! Now I'm looking for a stout 5 speed.

You should bring it to the track down here. You'll break it in, (or break it). But you'll smoke most of the cars with a good reaction time. I'd put up a good fight though.

I donno what I am going to do with it now... I don't drive this one, it's bastet44's, so I am not worried about uber performance and such.

What I may end up doing is buying a used 700R4 and rebuilding that one in my spare time, swap it out and see how it goes.

I do need to get a new VSS for her's, too.

My 92 has a 6spd... so I ain't got that problem...
