Default tps on a modified engine, changes?

Does the tps have to be set differently after an engine has been modified I.E.. heads, cam, intake, chip, injectors? the engine has been running rough and before i change the postion of the tps i was just wondering if it is supposed to be a higher volt for a higher power engine. Any help will do, thanks! I have an 86' if that helps any.

No need to "adjust" the TPS. Once the ECM "sees" WOT, more voltage won't make it see more WOT.

RACE ON!!!

You may get MAF codes from the ECM if the TPS is set at, say, .60 volts and the chip for the new motor expects to see way more air at that throttle setting than the stock programming did.

You may have to reset it at the lower end of the "acceptable range" specified for 86. It's been a while since I've done it, what is it .54 volts, +/- .08 volts?

That's the one problem I've had when getting into serious mods on the L98 MAF. There's been some posts on this subject, people pulling their hair out, then they adjust the TPS up or down and everything is A-OK again.
