Default Rear Ends

I would like to get off the line better at the strip but still use my car everyday on the street. I have a almost stock L98 with the Thermo Master Power Chip and some other small upgrades. What would be a good rear to put in? and what kind of times can I expect? I turn in the high 13s now. Thanks for any help.

I would try the 3.33 or 3.54.
I have the 3.33 and turn high 13 and never use 4 gear in the 1/4.

Depends on whether you have an auto or manual, and what gear you have in it now.

L98 doesnt need much gearing, its powerband is too short.

A fellow CF member Corvette0096 uses a set of 3.07 gears behind a A4 transmission and runs 11's.

I have to know what gear is in it. Look in your RPOs for any code like "Gxx"

If you have standard 2.59s then its not financially sound to go to 3.07s, its not a big enough difference, and the L98 auto definitely doesnt need more than 3.07. If you have 3.07s already, you dont need more.

If you install a higher stall TC, that would give the same feel without hurting your top end. Something like a 2200 stall would be fine.
