Please explain what this code 51 means??

code 51....EEPROM PROGRAMING ERROR???

It usually means the the prom is bad. Did you play with the prom? It may not be seated correctly if you have a removable prom. If you have a newer flash programmable PCM, did you attempt to reflash it? If so the file maybe corrupt

the prom is bad????.............did none of the above just used paper clip
to retrieve code.........oh boy!!! any suggestions on where to buy it from!

Is the car running and is it running OK? The reason I ask is because normally with a prom error the engine won't run right. You can't just replace the prom in a 94/95 car, it is soldered in the PCM. You would have to replace the PCM.

I got a code 51 a long time ago... Bad prom. Bought an Ed Write chip and all has been working fine for years now

Here is a list of funny things that happen resent......would not crank
thought something was wrong with chip on key (wet)...wait 20min.
and blew key off car crank.....the ck engine light comes on frequently
sometimes car mysteriouly down shifts ......but overall no down right " won't run right".....I suspect I'v gotten use to a bad running engine and I'm finding it hard to detect problems!!
