I'm not able to dial in the tuning (adjustable mass air flow sensor by microtech) of my corvette without it throwing a 33 error code. It has a moderately modfied engine (trickflow cams and hydrollic roller lifters) and after extensive experimentation and diagnosis, I've concluded that the engine simply needs to breath more than the computer deems allowable. Currently, I have the mass air flow sensor adjusted just shy of where the engine really wants to be w/out the computer tripping on the error code 33 parameter. Any recommendations on having the 86 'vette computer chip modified (which parameters, who can do the job, cost of this service)? Any other input would be greatly appreciated as well.

Jason, the problem is probably with the adjustable MAF and not with the prom. We have 10 second cars running through a stock GM MAF sensor so I doubt that your car is in need of a larger MAF sensor. I have never seen a aftermarket MAF work well without a lot of work in the prom code MAF Tables. And doing that will normally require the presence of the car, in other words its not something that a tuner can properly do without having the car and getting feedback from the changes needed to make it work.
With the stock MAF and throttle body, the computer never threw a code but the engine did not run optimally well either. I installed a larger throttle body (52mm BBK) and the engine ran alot better and overall drivability was improved but would throw an error code 33 after driving a few miles. I replaced the MAF wires, connectors, and relays. Error code 33 persisted. I put back the stock throttle body and the error code 33 disappeared! but the engine did not run quite right. So, I went with a factory fit adjustable MAF by microtech. Listening to the engine, during idle and acceleration, I tuned the MAF until the sound and feel were ideal. Car idled, ran great until it thew error code 33. Hence, my theory that the stock computer parameters running with the modified engine are not entirely compatible with eath other...
