From: Why are there squished peanut butter cups in my underware?
The 60.0 rate spring is the only C4 spring code I can't confirm 100%.
I believe it will be HA and/or JA.
I have seen quite a few `96s with FHA, which I have as the 93.1 rated spring (for coupes) and some with FHC, which is the same 93.1 rate but for convertibles.

Thanks guys. The spring i have is an FHA......which sounds like it's the 93lb spring, which is not what i want. The code is stamped on the bottom of the spring near the end by the knuckle. Not sure if you can see it in the car or not.
Z07, can you give me the code for the code for the 1987 base suspension FE1 or Z52, which i believe is the 51.8 spring rate?

`85 late, `86 & `87 base (FE1) coupes and `87 Z-52 coupes use the 51.8 rates front spring. It will be stamped either HKX or HMP. Both codes were used in those three years.
Thanks a bunch Z07.........I didn;t think that spring was any different than the one i originally had in there in my 85. Your input has been a big help for both me and my nephew.
Ralph I'm going to be putting a new suspension kit on my buddys base suspention 96 in a few weeks. If your looking for a 96 spring I can get it to you for a good deal next time we get to E-Town.
Rich, we'll take it. Please find out how much he wants for it and make sure it's an HA code. That would be the same spring as in JP's car..which is what Chris is looking for.
Z07 - looking at Halversons suspension chart, i don't even see a 93.1 spring rate listed for 96. For 96 it shows the 60 and a 73.2. The 93.1 appears only in 88-93. Do you have a chart of some sort that lists the spring codes with the suspension options?
Looks like i removed my Z51 spring on my 85 and replace it with the same spring....DOH.

Remember what I said in my first post;

Thus the confusion on `96s. I doubt Chevy would give the same code to two different spring rates. But I can't figure out why half of the `96s I've seen have HA or JA, and the other half have codes for a different rate that wasn't used for years.
