whats the easiest way to tell which injectors is bad? does that test work for the cold start too? now my car wont hold pressure with engine off and key on. when its running it smells like someone is pouring gas and it idles bad.
Pull and inspect the spark plugs; a wet cylinder should show up on the spark plug.
Not holding fuel pressure can be due to:
-leaking injector
-faulty fuel pressure regulator
-faulty check valve in the fuel pump
You can isolate the problem by selectively clamping off the flex hoses just above the fuel tank. But, if you are having warm start problems, I suggest you pull the injectors and sent the set of 9 to Rich at Cruzin Performance, link on my site. He will recondition them with 48hrs in shop time so you would have them back in about a week.
What I did with mine was unbolt the fuel rails from the intake manifold, pop the injectors up and put some light colored construction paper under the nozzel of each injector. Then turn the key to prime the system, turn it off and look for which one sprayed the paper.
i tried pinching the return line and still had the same results. i guess i will go pull the plugs. this sux. these injectors are new....i would rather not tell you who made them, but they have yellow tops. i hope summit has a good return policy.
