** See the bottom message I left as to what connector goes to which relay as mine were both laying behind the battery and I don't know which is the burn off relay **
I found that my code problem is a 36 and that shows to be the MAF burn off relay or the power relay. I am pretty sure the burn off is under the ECM, but not sure and the power relay I belive is on the firewall, but not sure. Is there a chance that the MAF could be the problem, I believe the code for the MAF is code 34. Any HELP will sure be appreciated. By the way I have the alum. head vert if that makes any difference. Thanks !!!

Reason: Which connector is the burn off relay ????
That's were it is on my 1988, but it doesn't appear to be on the 86, and it doesn't show where it is in the GM manual, or I am missing finding the right diagram. Anyone with a 1986 know for sure ??? Thanks
Thanks guys I found them, I called Autozone and they never heard of them, is this a part I need to get from GM or ???? I would rather get it at a local part store if possible, any ideas ???
Can anyone tell me the color of the wires on the connector for the inboard burn off relay or what number on the connector doesn't have a wire to it ??? Mine were both off the firewal and laying behing the battery and I want to make sure the right connector goes on the correct relay. Thanks.

The 86 has two relays that use different connectors. Note the different connector colors. The 87 uses two identical relays and the 85 uses a single relay. I can't speak for the 88 or 89. The pic should be helpful to locate the mounting and relay position.
Remember to reset the system (disconnect battery) This to ensure the code is a hard code.

Yes I have, but haven't had a chance to look at the car yet and see what matches up. I am hoping that will give me the answer. I will take a look when it cools down outside as we are on a record setting day for being hot and it is reaching its peak right about now. Thanks and I will have the new relays tomorrow from GM and I sure hope that they solve the problem as I don't know where to go from there if it doesn't, so I think positive !!!!
Be sure and check that the insulation is in good condition at the connectors. The high current loads on that year tends to shrink the insulation leaving bare copper exposed. My 86 had about 1/2 to 3/4 inch exposed.
Thanks for the tip on the bare wires as I checked and one was bare about 1 inch and another was just about worn through and had to be replaced. I never would have thought of that. I still haven't figured out for sure which connector is that maf relay and which is the burn off. but I am pretty sure the one with the red wire is the actual relay.
