Sean, it depends on how Georgia does the tests. If you have to pass a visual, you won't pass unless all the emissions equipment is in place. If your state only requires that the PCM has no DTCs and that the IM240 status flags are all "ready" then all you would have to do is to get LT1 edit or another programming tool to program out the flags. But sometimes that doesn't give you the IM240 ready status flags. If your state doesn't require them to be "ready" then you are home free. However if Georgia is like Oregon then Georgia will require that the IM240 flags all be in the ready status. These cover the following systems:

O2 sensors
O2 sensor heater circuits
AIR systems
EVAP systems
Catalysts systems

Just having o2 sims in the rear sensor positions won't cure the problem in most cases. The PCM may not set a code but I can almost gurantee you that the IM240 ready status for that system won't be ready.

there is no visual.
I am pretty sure that ( well according to locals here) that as long as no codes are thrown i should be good.....
well they all tell me you pull in the hook it up scan the comp for a couple mins and then give you a certificate.

so youre saying with LT1 edit. and editing out the flags I should be good. Im almost positive that its what people do around here.

I wonder how I could find that out for certian... maybe go talk to mr emissions agian.

TJ thanks alot!!!!

thanks your friend
Sean

Reading this thread is an amazing experience in how our brains don't comprehend the simple things like, the real reason that pollution control stuff is on our cars. It's not to make the car run better or worse or faster or slower. It's there to keep us air breathing animals alive a little bit longer by reducing air pollution. Granted, sometimes it seems like a futile effort especially when we demonstrate great pride in "defeating the system". This was very evident in my factory experiences in fighting with people to wear eye and hearing protection. They couldn't comprehend that it was for their own good and not mine, so they constantly resisted. Kinda like pollution controls on vehicles, in which case it's positive for all of us. So, if you want to shorten your own life, feel free to do so, some other way. Quit dismantling the air quality control devices so you can poison all of us.

I rest my case. Flame On.

No flames from me, Pier Eagle. I fully agree.

And as to our good friend here who started the thread, red, you are so misdirected and relatively uneducated, that it's enough to make others see "red". In your all out quest for power on the street vs. putting it on the track-only where a polluting car might (I say, Might) be, you don't listen, and worse, you don't understand what's being said to you here.

And it comes to you from people who either know more than you, or have more experience than you do.

Too bad! For us, because we gotta breathe your mistakes, and for you in so many ways. Whatever you do, you may pass Georgia emissions. But you won't, and don't pass the more important test.

Wise up, there's still time and hope.

It will be interesting to see how this smog test business works out, if he'll admit it. In the past, when asking about modifications, he assured everyone that he didn't have to worry about smog tests. Intimating that his area didn't have them. Or at the minimum, expressing that he knew the way around them. In either case, here he is again, proving himself wrong. Hopeless!

So very well put. I could almost cry. I am so proud right now... wow.

For all the power that modern emission controls rob (no more then 10hp) for their benefit... seems like a no brainer to me.

the reason for takin The Egr/ Air off was not so it would run faster, lighter, etc.. It was because I simply didnt have provisions in my headers for it. I am not tryin to pollute. I am an outdoors guy and love the enviroment.
this is simply not what thats about
any ways.
good bye
thanks for the help
my local palls helped as well.

so thanks for the constructive criticism
it does help.

your friend
Sean

Acctually
where I got my line hey your friend Sean
is from a very important mentor to me.
Mr. Andrew W.K.
ive had the pleasure of meeting him 2-3 times and I see all his concerts here in atlanta all 6 of them.
He has written me letters and signed shirts all with words of advice. and he always ends them by sayin your friend
Andrew W.K.
just by meeting me for a small fraction of time. he is a great guy and is always looking to help people and be friends with everyone.
so thats where I am coming from. hes a great guy who aspires to make everyone feel good and hopefully have an impact on us kids these days for the better, which I assure you he does.
for what thats worth there you go
end of convo

when I say your friend I say that as in what can I do for you?
I am humble and I always try to help people out to the best of my knowledge and if they need help.
I am not the bad guy you make me out to be, honestly.

Then why did you pick headers that didn't have provisions for EGR if you are such an environmentalist?

I have a word for people like you: hypocrite.

And you were so concerned for the environment that you bought headers with no provisions for smog equipment hook ups. An "outdoors guy" who says I "love the enviroment" would have made damn sure that the headers were smog compliant. More two faced, double talk.

No! When you say that, you say, what can I get you to do for me. The first time you posted that, it was in response to a guy that had asked about ceramic coating. The guy was a newbie and it was his very first post, but all of a sudden, with the gleam of a sale in your eye, he became "your friend". "Your friend" has been a common sign off for you ever since I challenged you on that instance. "Welcome to my web, said the spider to the fly."

Yeah! You sure sound humble. If "to the best of my knowledge" is all you have to offer, you may as well save your breath, Mr. "Ceramic is a good conductor". No knowledge = No help.

"any ways.
good bye
thanks for the help
my local palls helped as well." Quote from your friend, Sean. or whatever...

I gues I must be outa da loop (dee loop )
'cause I have NO IDEA who Andrew WK is. I maybe should care????/

Any ways (as some might say and speellll it), that quote above just about sez it all for me:

"my local palls..." is that like local "pall" bearers?? hmmmmm. Deadly serious, our friend Sean is here. Hmmm. Freud, Freud? Wherefor art thou???

Environmentalist? Gawd, The Sierra, Wilderness and Nature Conservancy types must RUN when they see or hear your name, I'm sure.

Be well, "Pall" Sean, and do try to breathe in as much of your "environmentalist" exhaust air that's non-polluting as you can. It makes it all better for us'n.

Throw some headers/manifolds on with smog rails, connect all the EGR/smog stuff and you don't have to sweat it anymore. End of story-
