Default TIMING help please!

Ok, I've been messin with my timing, and I can't seem to dial it in... Engine specs are in the sig. With the Pro billet distributor I can change how much advance its getting from 16*-28* (then add my initial timing of 8*-12*) for my full advance. How much full advance should I be running for my setup? Also, when should my full advance be occuring? My cam is rated from 2500-6000 RPM.

With the 2.73's in the rear I still pulled on a C5 with an x-pipe, headers w/no cats and intake until 65-70 then he caught me and started inching away... can't wait to get the EFI, 3" duals w/x-pipe, D44 w/3.73's, and and actual dyno tune!!

Also, how much HP at the wheels do you think i've got right now and how much potential hp does my setup have?

Thanks!

34 total can be a good start.
Have you some kock sensor ? could you hear for knock?
Add or remove timing accordingly.
Probably you have around 380 - 400 Hp at the crank.

Well, are you running a vacuum advance or no? I would suggest have your timing full advance @ 2800-3000rpm. IIRC, you want around 36º-38º total timing. So, I would say 10º initial with 26º advance. See how the engine likes that.

No, i don't have vacum advance on it. I have the 26º bushing in the distributor so I'm running around 36º-38º now. I just need to change where it comes on at... I think it is comming on to early (2200 RPM). I was told by a race shop that the speedpro pistons i have are prone to failure if I run over 36º full advance... anyone heard about this? I really don't want to pull a piston head off.
