Hello everyone;
I have some squeaks in the front end on my 84 Z51. I checked everything and all seems nice and tight. A friend suggusted that it may be the stock bushings and they need replacing. Anyone else experianced the same thing?
Thanks
The sway bar bushings are not lubricated and the rubber can dry out over time. If you notice the squeaking when one wheel rolls over a bump I would suspect these bushings.
I just replaced mine with ES bushings and lubed the new bushings well before installation.
Do you have the old stock bushings or are they aftermarket?
Try to associate the squeak with a particular action to isolate the noise with a particular set of bushings.
If it is the sway bar bushings I strongly recommend installing a set of the ES black polygraphite bushings front & rear; if not I would replace the worn bushings with OEM style.
